Don R. Jensen & Company (DRJ) was established in 1931 as an independent wholesale broker of property and casualty insurance. For over 80 years, DRJ has been helping independent agents secure dependable and affordable coverage for their clients. Our team of professionals has an average of 22 years of experience in the insurance industry through a diverse array of roles on both the retail agency and company side, including customer service, account management, underwriting, claims handling, and loss control.

MIKE KRISTOF, CPCU

PRESIDENT

Mike joined DRJ in 1986 and has served as President of the company since 1999. Before coming to DRJ, Mike was a national accounts underwriting manager at the Continental Insurance Company. Mike is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and has been a licensed property and casualty producer since 1986.

BRIAN KRISTOF, CPA

VICE PRESIDENT

Brian joined DRJ in 2014 and is responsible for marketing and underwriting workers’ compensation business. Prior to joining DRJ, Brian was an Operational Due Diligence Analyst at Lighthouse Partners, a fund of hedge funds located in Chicago. He began his career as an Analyst in the Private Equity Fund Administration department at Northern Trust. Brian graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelors in Accounting and Finance and a Masters in Finance. Brian is also a Certified Public Accountant.

JENNIFER PISKE 

ACCOUNTING / CLAIMS / UNDERWRITING

Jennifer joined DRJ in 1998.  In addition to underwriting workers’ compensation business, Jennifer is responsible for handling claims, accounting/billing, and marketing. Prior to DRJ, Jennifer spent 10 years at United Fire Group where she held numerous roles in underwriting, accounting, and employee training.

LAURIE MCKEE

UNDERWRITING (WORKERS' COMPENSATION)

Laurie began her insurance career in 1990 on the agency side as a commercial lines account representative at Tropp & Co., where she ultimately progressed to a commercial lines account manager and VP of Operations. Laurie has been with DRJ since 2001, where she focuses on underwriting workers’ compensation business.
